FloraFemme is a multi-species probiotic supplement used for bacterial vaginosis (BV) and vaginal yeast infections. Unlike oral probiotic supplements that you swallow, this probiotic supplement is meant to be inserted directly into the vaginal as a suppository for maximum delivery and contact.
FloraFemme contains more than 57 billion CFUs (Colony-Forming Units) per capsule of 11 species of probiotics:
The patent is pending on this product, so the manufacturer told me that they cannot release the details of the strains or the methodology is making the supplement. However, it is stated on the website that the facility where the supplement is made is in "one of the country's top-rated nutraceutical manufacturers", which is certified GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), QAI (Quality Assurance Institute-Certified Organic) and TGA (Australia's FDA equivalent).
This supplement is also completely made in the USA.
Additionally, this product:
At the first sign of unpleasant odor, itching or discharge, insert one (1) capsule far up in the vagina for 6 consecutive nights, at bedtime. All 6 capsules, one-per-bedtime, must be used for maximum benefit.
It is possible and recommended that another course be used for stubborn conditions. The last thing you want to do is stop using probiotics prematurely before pathogenic microbes are under control by your body! (The same is true for oral probiotics, too!)
It is also recommended by the manufacturer that you use 1 - 2 capsules each month, right after your period or as-needed. Inserting capsules right after your period, when your vaginal pH is higher, will help to lower the pH and keep the populations of beneficial bacteria in control.
